I heard there was a secret chord...

Just beginning to discover the music of Jeff Buckley, had heard Hallelujah before, but getting quite into the rest of his stuff.

Had my first cricket practice last week, then managed to injure myself while out cycling on Sunday, so have had to miss nets tonight. Hopefully Thursday...

On the bright side, at least I've been swimming a couple of times since my last post too. So all in all things are looking up for me trying to get a little bit fitter... in time!!

Tonight I'm listening to: Basement Jaxx and Jeff Buckley. I know. Strange combination.
Tomorrow: I'm planning to go for a swim after work.

Confusion

Surrounded by guide books for Canada, Egypt and Italy. No idea which I'm going to yet for summer hols...

Think I might go to Canada in January, but Egypt or Italy this September or October? Decisions decisions!

Anyway... time for bed, said Zebedee!

Nobody Does It Better

OK, sadly I'm not talking about me...

Goldeneye's on tonight, and I'm watching Bridget Jones 2 ... so it's a bit of a Bond theme tonight... if you'll pardon the pun...! (Bridget Jones 2 opens with a spoof of the parachute scene from Spy Who Loved Me).

So as I'm on a Bond theme... top 10 Bond movies... counting down from 10 to 1!

10 Octopussy
9 A View To A Kill
8 Live And Let Die
7 Thunderball
6 For Your Eyes Only
5 Goldfinger
4 The Spy Who Loved Me
3 The Living Daylights
2 The World Is Not Enough
1 Goldeneye

Feel free to argue with me on that...

This list is highly subjective!!!

Tonight I'm: waiting for people to argue with my list!! ;-)

Got my hair, got my head, got my brains, got my ears, got my eyes, got my nose, got my mouth, I got my smile...

OK, I was really struggling for a song tonight for the blog title! (it's by Nina Simone, in case you can't place it!)

So... spring looks like it's arriving in Edinburgh. The crocuses are in flower and the snow's gone, apartfrom on the Pentland hills.

The nicest thing I've noticed over the past couple of days is that the hillside next to the path where I walk on the way to and from work has had its grass cut, and the smell of the cut grass as I've been heading home from work on an evening has just been gorgeous. It's reminded me of school and cricket.

Which reminds me, I've had an invitation to play cricket this year! I'm going to pop along and see if I can remember which end of a bat is which. I've not played in about 10 years, since I was at school, and I'm really looking forward to it! I should probably start getting more exercise in to get me a bit fitter for the cricket season...

Tonight: watching West Wing series 3...
Tomorrow I'll be: considering going swimming! Only considering, mind you...! ;-)

Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere

I've got vast amounts of stuff to watch at the moment. A backlog almost as bad as the amount of books on my bookshelf waiting to be read...!

I'm just getting towards the end of Series 2 of the West Wing, and I've got all of Series 3 to watch, plus both Shrek movies (yes, I know I'm a freak, but I've not seen them yet!). And many more...! I could spend a good couple of days solidly in front of the tv without surfacing...

And in this weather, that's tempting...

Edinburgh is under snow, although Leith has less of a covering than the south of the city, as we're so close to the sea. But I still looked like a snowman by the time I walked all the way down Leith Walk!

Tonight I'm: watching the West Wing series 2
Tomorrow: it's FMQs, so busy day!

We're after the same rainbow's end, waiting around the bend, my Huckleberry friend...

I'm not entirely sure how I've managed to live 28 years without having seen Breakfast at Tiffany's. I'm still not entirely sure what I think of it! Mind you, think I should finish watching it before I pass judgment!

Tonight I'm: watching Breakfast at Tiffany's and listening to Moon River.
Tomorrow I'll be: getting ready for the weekend! Hooray!

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Short post tonight. I'm just watching Before Sunset. Watched Before Sunrise earlier this evening. They're two movies, set (and made) 9 years apart, starring Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. I'd not heard of them before a colleague of mine recommended them. They came out on dvd yesterday.

I was only going to watch the first one... but I couldn't resist finding out what happened 9 years later!

Tonight I'm: 28.
Tomorrow I'm: back to work after two days off.

I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself

OK, rock night tonight - had the Zutons, Franz Ferdinand, Scissor Sisters, Outkast, and the White Stripes on so far tonight!

Oh, the excitement - I've got a day off work tomorrow... to get double glazing fitted. Joy.

So if you don't hear from me again, it's because I've turned into an ice block while they take the flat's windows out!

Tonight I'm listening to: loud stuff
Tomorrow I'll be: freezing...

Never settle for the path of least resistance

The title has no relevance to anything whatsoever I'm about to post, it's just a lyric in a song I'm listening to right now that grabbed my attention when I was looking for a title... [for those anoraks out there, the song's "I Hope You Dance" by Ronan Keating - amazing what random stuff iTunes throws up sometimes...!]

I've been horrendously busy at work the last few weeks. Plus I'm getting double glazing in my flat, so I've had to organise that.

Since I last posted, I finished Series One of the West Wing, and I'm now about half way through Series Two. And fortunately, after my near-vampiric nocturnalism over Christmas while I was staying with my parents, I'm back to normal hours. Or as close to normal as you get in my job...

I'm still in shock that people left comments to my last post - I didn't realise people out there were reading my blog! Nice to know there are, though! ;-)

I fully intend to write more frequently again now... just January is always such a horrible month, I think everyone retreats back into their shells and I'm no exception!

Tonight I'm listening to: random iTunes selections from about 15GB on my hard drive...
Tomorrow I'm: tearing my hair out at work again...!

Am I turning nocturnal?

I think I must be. I'm happily sitting at 2.20am, watching series one of the West Wing.

Been listening to the gales tonight, but I'm now curling up for the night with my headphones on.
